GOSPEL MEETING 11/12/11

Jonathan Gibson from Harrogate read Leviticus 16 and spoke about The Day of Atonement.
He began by pointing out various important events in history and emphasised the importance and significance of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The High Priest could only enter the Most Holy Place once a year with shedding of blood but that could never take away sin but through Christ's death we have access to God at any time and our sins are removed as far as the east is from the west not just covered as with atonement.
vs.29 afflick-deny yourself repent
do no work- not by works
vs.30 atonement-propitiation (not a covering but a taking away).
