Philip Gibson (Cutsyke) read 1 Samuel Chapter 4 about the ark of the Lord being captured from the Philistines. He spoke on troubled days. Israel suffered two defeats at the hands of the Philistines. 30,000 men were killed in the second battle and the ark of the Lord was captured. Israel had forsaken God, which was why they suffered such a heavy defeat. The Lord's presence had left the ark and it provided no protection for the people. Have we neglected the things of God? A close relationship with God is essential in the Christian life and without it we will not know victory. God gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
