Gospel Meeting 12/10/2014

In the past couple of weeks we have heard about consecutive chapters in Acts so I thought I would continue with this theme.
In Acts 16 we heard “what must I do to be saved.” In Acts 17 we heard about the “Unknown God.” So in Acts 18  vs.5 that Jesus was Christ. Vs.28 publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
ACTS 8 VS.35  Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Luke 9 vs.35  And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
And I would like to bring out the truth that Jesus is the Saviour the promised one from God, “His name shall be called Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins. He is real and He will make a real difference in our lives whatever has gone before in our lives whether Jews or whether Gentiles, The person of  Christ has changed everything. We can hold on to our past and leave God out of our lives, or we can embrace the future with Him.

1/Through Him we can be right with God now.
2/Through Him we can have new life here and now.
3/Through Him we can have Eternal Life.

1/Through Him we can be right with God now.
In our society today we have become very accustomed to sin to the point when sometimes it is regarded as being amusing to do something wrong and standards have dropped so far that we don’t even know what is wrong and what is right a lot of the time.
It is a sad day when even our children are not safe from evil people.
God’s standard is Holiness and anything that falls short of that is sin. We are all sinners some worse than others but we have all sinned we all have a sinful nature. It is impossible for God to overlook sin. The wages of sin is death, that’s eternal death in Hell, forever separated from God.
Ephesians 2 vs.4 ¶  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
God sent His Son the Lord Jesus to take our place and die for us. The crucifixion of the Lord Jesus is unique in that because He had no sin so He could die in my place and God would accept His death in place of mine. So then God did not overlook my sin but punished His own Son in my place.
Hebrews 10 vs.12  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Colossians  1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
He lived, died, rose again, ascended back to Heaven and is coming back to receive all who have repented and put their faith and trust in Him. God must accept all who are in Jesus Christ, because of the work of Calvary.
2/Through Him we can have new life here and now.
It’s not just pie in the sky when you die, it’s cake on your plate while you wait. Like Pilgrim in Pilgrims Progress his burden fell off, the weight was lifted. To know that your sins are forgiven gives you freedom and liberty from your guilt. We have God’s joy and peace, and we have a purpose for life, living your life for God.
Philippians 1vs.21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians3 vs.7  But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
1 Corinthians 2 vs.9 Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Prayer and reading the Bible and meeting with God’s people are things that are essential for a happy and fulfilled Christian life. You will still have problems and difficulties in your life and you will still sin, the difference is that you can trust God to get you through and you can confess your sin to Him and He will forgive you. It is amazing when you realize that whatever happens you are going to Heaven and nothing can change that because Jesus has born the judgement for you.
3/Through Him we can have Eternal Life.

We will spend Eternity in Heaven with Him we shall be changed , we shall be with Him and like Him.
Re 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Ephesians 1 vs.3 ¶  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
We are not told an awful amount about Heaven but what we are told is enough to want to be there rather than Eternal torment

Ephesians3 vs.17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
So in this day and age people think that they can do as they please and not be held responsible we have lost the sense of being accountable to our fellow man and even more so being accountable to God who created us and upon whom we rely for our very breath.
There is a real choice to make now.
John 3 vs.35  The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
God has reached out to you in love you need to accept His Son as your Saviour, or take your chance without Him.

Once you have trusted Christ the Holy Spirit will indwell you and He will lead you into all truth you won’t be on your own.
