Gospel Meeting 29/04/2018

John’s Gospel ch9 vs1 – 41.

The speaker gave a message on 4 most relevant questions which were asked of Jesus Christ in the above passage of scripture:

1)  vs12 – WHERE IS HE?
Jesus Christ is in Heaven.

“… I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God”.
- John’s Gospel ch20 vs17.
“And it came to pass as he blessed them, he was parted from them and carried up into heaven”.
- Luke’s Gospel ch24 vs51.
“… Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner, as ye have seen him go into heaven”.
- The Acts ch1 vs11.

The Lord Jesus Christ will indeed be returning, to take home all his own people unto Himself. Friend, will you be there?... Do you know Jesus Christ as your Saviour?

2) vs36 – WHO IS HE?
This one could easily take all night!
Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son of God.

“And lo, a voice from heaven, saying,This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”.
- Matthew’s Gospel ch3 vs17.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us”.
- Matthew’s Gospel ch1 vs23.
“And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”.
- Matthew’s Gospel ch16 vs16.
“Nathaniel answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God…”.
-    John’s Gospel ch1 vs49.
“And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God”.
-    Mark’s Gospel ch15 vs39.

Jesus Christ took on humanity.
Why did He leave Heaven to enter into this sin – cursed Earth?... In love He came down to be the Saviour of the world. The only One who was able to be the Saviour of sinners.
He willingly left all the glory of Heaven and took a body that would be crucified on a Cross as payment for the price of all our sins – which we can never begin to pay.
Yes friend, Jesus Christ personally loves YOU and laid down His life to deal with your own sin and its eternal horrific consequences.
If you have never accepted Him as your Saviour, then tonight Jesus Christ is ever still concerned for you, and bids you to come to Him in repentance and faith. He loves you and wants you to be part of His eternal family in Heaven.

3)  vs26 - WHAT DID HE?
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin – foretold centuries earlier – and entered life in a lowly cattle shed.
Our redemption was completely out of our own hands, so Jesus Christ came to us.
In dying at Calvary, He was made sin for us all…. God the Creator of all died for you!
What amazing love!

Jesus Christ rose from the tomb after three days, His sacrificial death, being wholly sinless, was totally accepted by His Father.
Reader, such is His love for you, that He let wicked men nail Him to a Cross and died in great agony!

“Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour”.
- John’s Gospel ch12 vs27.
“Now this is eternal life:  that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent”.
- John’s Gospel ch17 vs3.

Through repentance and faith you are fully able to enter into Heaven and escape Hell!
How can one reject this great Gospel and such a loving Saviour?

This is anyone’s only means of Salvation
Now, Christ is at His Father’s right hand interceding for us, and hearing our every prayer.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
- 1st Epistle of John ch1 vs10.
“… and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”.
-    1st Epistle of John ch1 vs7.

4)  vs17 – WHAT SAYEST THOU OF HIM?
The most personal and relevant question…
Reader, is Jesus Christ your own Saviour or not?

One who was crucified alongside Jesus Christ repented, and acknowledging who He was, said “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom”.
Can you say that from your heart tonight? What an absolute blessing!
It is a terrible eternity for those who reject God’s immense love which was given for us at Calvary.
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation…”.
- Hebrews ch2 vs3.

What is your choice tonight?
It is our earnest prayer that your decision is the same one as the blind man we read of in our passage (vs38) – “Lord, I believe”…. And he worshipped Him.
