The Preaching of the Cross (Sunday 22nd July)

Jim Locke (Leeds) preached from 1 Corinthians Chapter 1 Verse 18. He had four questions: Was the cross really necessary?; Is the cross relevant for today?; Does it affect us presently?; and Does it give us hope? The answer to all these questions is yes, according to the Bible. There is no salvation without sacrifice and we can not be saved without the cross. Jesus came to die for our sin that we might be saved through faith in Him. Our faith depends upon a person who died, and who has risen again to be a living Saviour.
