John Walls from the fellowship spoke. He read Romans Ch. 1 and verse 16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes..." There are three reasons why Paul was not ashamed of the gospel. 1) It was the gospel of Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is God's Son and came to die for us, taking on humanity but also being fully God. He is also the Creator of the world and the one whom the Bible tells us all fullness dwells. 2) It is the power of God to salvation. God's power in salvation brings a person from death to life, from darkness to light and makes them a new creation in Christ. Through faith we can experience God's power. 3) It is a message that is universal, it is for everyone who believes. It is not limited in anyway but only requires belief in the hearer to be effective.
Through faith we can believe the gospel and know forgiveness and deliverance from our sins and experience God's power in our own lives.
