Sunday 15th April

Malcolm Blanche (Harehills) read in Acts Ch. 27, drawing parallels with the Titanic. The captain in Acts Ch. 27 ignored the advice of the Apostle Paul not to set sail. The Bible contains warnings to us that we would do well to listen to.
The captain was tempted to set sail by the favourable south wind, we too should be careful that we are not tempted to disobey God when we feel like it.
The men on the ship committed themseleves to the sea and all made it safetly to land. We need to commit our lives to God in order to be saved. Trust in Jesus, He died for you.

Sunday 8th April

Stan Chappellow (Castleford) spoke about 'Gates'. The Bible says in Matthew Chapter 7, 'You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.' Stan spoke about the gate in Sodom where Lot sat, warning about the dangers of getting too deep in sin. He spoke about Samson and how his pride brought him down. He also spoke about Ruth and how she was brought into the family of God as a foreigner and a stranger. God is calling us to Himself through His Son Jesus Christ.

Sunday 1st April

Richard Malcom (Killamarsh) preached the gospel from a father's perspective. He read John 3 v.16 about God giving His only Son to be the Saviour of the world. Richard talked about his son and how he has a big problem, he is a sinner like everyone of us. Although we can try to hide the fact that we do wrong God sees our heart and sees that we are sinners. Death and punishment is the penalty of sin. God loved us so much that He sent His Son to be our Saviour and to take our punishment for sin by becoming a sacrifice for sins. The Bible tells us, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
