Gospel Meeting 22/02/2015

Mr. Phillip Richardson read Psalm 84.
Being happy as a Christian still happens when we go through sad times.
Psalm 8 vs.3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
God cares for us and loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for us. If we don't trust Him as our Saviour we will face everlasting judgement in Hell.
We can have victory through the strength of God. If we feel that there is something in our lives that God won't or can't forgive we are wrong He will forgive and save you.
It is important to read the Bible it brings us face to face with God. It is not always easy to be a Christian but He gives us rest and peace.
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and His finished work shows that He paid the price for my sin, He rose never to die again. He conquered death so that we might live. You will never experience true peace and rest without Him. He loves you more than anyone else ever can. A Christian is always with God. HAPPY! He saw them toiling even though they couldn't see Him.

vs.5  Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
You are either a servant of God or a slave to sin. We must humble ourselves and accept God's complete control of our lives, it is not something to be taken lightly, but He takes care of those who trust Him, He is our sun and shield. He gives us a meaningful and purposeful life, without Him your life is empty. "Happiness is to know the Saviour."

Gospel Meeting 15/02/2015

Mr. George Clamp read Luke 15 vs.11-32
The younger son went away into sin but he realised the situation he was in and repented and decided to go home. He received a warm welcome back which shows the fathers love, if we repent and return to the Father He will receive us warmly and demonstrate His love.
The older brother judged his brother and displayed pride, envy, and condemnation. Both brothers did wrong, both would have broken their fathers heart. What is our relationship with the Father we should follow Him. Loving one another is not an option. The father loved them both.
Philippians 1 vs.21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Gospel Meeting 08/02/2015

Dr. Gareth Crossley read Romans 1 vs.1-4 and 16-21.
The righteousness of God;
1/ Explained.
2/ Revealed.
3/ Fulfilled.
4/ Applied.

1/ Moral perfection, Holiness, definition of what is good, virtue, God is love, God is light. (no darkness).

2/ When the righteousness is revealed to us we realise how great a barrier there is between us and God.

3/ Romans 8 vs.2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The righteousness of God is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, He is righteous God and Righteous man. They brought false accusations against Him and condemned Him to death falsely, and they are responsible for their actions, but it was all God's plan. His death was prophesied long before crucifixion was introduced. He doesn't want our pity, He wants our love, worship and devotion.
Our sin was accounted to Him and God punished His Son for our sin to fulfill all righteousness.

4/God is unspeakably gracious, merciful and kind.
Our sin in the eyes of God is far worse than ever we can realise but Jesus died, His grace is sufficient.
There must be repayment, if we are wronged we expect justice how much more God and His  justice is separation from Him. Sin can never satisfy don't turn your back on God.
 Romans 3 vs. 25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
How could God give up His Son to die in that way. He clothes us in a robe of righteousness, He looks at us and sees Jesus and His righteousness. Repent and believe the Gospel.

Gospel Meeting 01/02/2015

Dr. Gareth Crossley read John 3 vs.14-16 and Numbers 21 vs.4-9.
We are never commanded to be born again, but we are commanded to repent and believe.
We need to see things from God's perspective, we are sinners before Him.
1/ doing what is wrong.2/ not doing what is right to God's standard.
God's love is pure and intense and Holy.
The wages of sin is death, the soul that sins will die.
They realised that they had sinned against God and offended Him.
They had to look and live.
We have to believe and live.
Jesus bore all our sins as if they were His own and God punished His Son for them all.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
The serpent was the cause of sin in Genesis, and the serpent on the pole was a picture, a lesson about Jesus dying on the cross so that we could live, He was punished in our place, which shows us the love of God to us
