Gospel Meeting 27/05/2018

Luke’s Gospel ch4 vs14 -22.

The speaker returned to this passage of scripture, having previously spoken on the various aspects of The Lord’s ministry (vs18 & 19). Tonight he concluded by looking at these last two subjects:
“to set at liberty those who are bruised”, and “to preach the acceptable year of the Lord”.

These are all glorious truths brought out from The Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, He was not the local carpenter, but as The Messiah He was about His real work - and the reason why He left Heaven and came to Earth.

The proof that He is the Son of God and fully trustworthy, is found through all the prophesies (more than 350) which are indisputably directly to Him.

Jesus Christ is the only one to have ever fully practised what He preached!
His holy, sinless life was His message as well as His words and work.

5) “to set at liberty them that are bruised” …

He came to set free all those people whose lives were oppressed and crushed.
We have a most wonderful loving Saviour, and in Him we boast all day long!
Still today, there are so many peoples lives hurting badly, whether it be through circumstances or personal fault.
However, The Lord Jesus Christ changes lives!
Reader, He can take hold of your own shattered life and turn it around – what He has done for millions of others, He can do for you too.
Call upon Him and gain His real and lasting peace.
Maybe you feel damaged beyond repair? He can heal that life of turmoil.
Trust your life over to The Lord Jesus Christ and He can deliver you too from the consequences of a sinful life.

God sent His Son to put things right, where none else could.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.
-   Matthew’s Gospel ch11 vs28.

Friend, do you feel in need tonight? Are you labouring and see no answer to life and all its problems? Then look unto Him – he knows everything about you and you can trust Him implicitly.

6) “To preach the acceptable year of the Lord” …

This is God’s time of favour toward mankind, through the preaching of the Gospel.
NOW, only NOW is acceptable!
NOW is the time to be saved and set free!
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”.
  John’s Gospel ch8 vs36.

Every one of us deserve nothing but death and eternal punishment because of our sinful lives before Holy God, our Creator - but His beloved Son Jesus Christ took our place.
It is likened to a criminal in court being found totally guilty, and the Judge saying “I will take your place, I will pay the price”.
Jesus Christ paid our debt!
We too are utterly guilty, but through His great love for you, He sacrificed His sinless life in agony on The Cross. He died and was punished in our place, before rising from His tomb – fully justified.

"Outcast of men, to you I call,
Harlots, publicans, and thieves;
He spreads His arms to embrace you all--
Sinners alone His grace receive.
No need of Him the righteous have;
He came the lost to seek and save”.
- words from poem by J. Wesley.

God’s day of vengeance and righteous judgement is fast approaching for this sin – filled Earth, but NOW, TONIGHT, His great and gracious opportunity for anyone to accept Jesus Christ as Saviour is still open and available …

Friend, what hinders you?
Will you not come to Jesus Christ in faith right now? Will you not simply admit you are a guilty sinner and repent of your sinful ways? Why not ask of Him and receive His full and free forgiveness this moment? He longs to hear your words and will welcome you with wide open arms.

Gospel Meeting 20/05/2018.

The Book of Psalms, Chapter 121.

A most comforting Psalm!
When we who belong to The Lord are travelling through life’s struggles and problems, this reminds us that we are never ever alone.
We are under the constant care of the Almighty God – a remarkable companion through all things we face in life.
He is ever on guard duty – this is the Alpha and Omega, the one true and living God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and the one who never slumbers nor sleeps!
Yet He desires to have a daily relationship with YOU!

The Psalmist had all his confidence in his Lord. He was trusting Him with his whole life and everything in it.
Friend, who is your confidence in? Who are you trusting in, as you live through such an uncertain life and dangerous world?
Some trust in horoscopes – written by mere man, some trust in themselves for their own destiny, and others in false “gods” who do not exist.

Are you facing seemingly impossible situations? This true and living God is the one who keeps us, the one who is with you 24/7.
He knows us better than we know ourselves!
Place your whole trust in Him, because He is totally dependable.
God is the unmoveable rock!

Friend, He made you – is He not capable of looking after you?
He alone can supply you with lasting peace –
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding , shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. (Philippians ch4 vs7)

Life may often feel like a rollercoaster ride, but we can feel firm and secure when we are in a relationship with Him.
How do we enter into this relationship?   God loved each of us so much, he sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to die for our sins, that we might live.
Jesus Christ is God in flesh, born of a virgin and lived a completely sinless life for thirty three years.  In love, He then laid down His sinless life as a sacrifice for all our sins on Calvary’s Cross, so that we can be forgiven and not face the eternal punishment for them, that we all deserve. After three days, He arose from the grave – victorious over sin, death and Hell!

Friend, all the work of Salvation is done! Your part required is but to come to Him in faith, acknowledging who He is and admitting you are a sinner. Ask Him to forgive you and be your Saviour from that day, repenting of your past sinful life. Then He will ever be with you!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life”.
-   John’s Gospel ch3 vs16.
What an incredible invitation this is – and one never to be refused!
Enter into this relationship and it will be the most remarkable one you will ever have.
He then gives us His living Word to guide us, and we can enter into prayer with Him to share our thoughts anytime, anywhere.
The one who does not require sleep is ever listening, ready to hear your words.

Are you feeling weary, fed – up of life’s problems? Feeling so tested and facing many trials? Then like the Psalmist “lift up your eyes” to The Lord who will never fail you.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.
-    1st Epistle of Peter ch5 vs7.

Life is never straightforward, and each of us personally need the living Saviour, Jesus Christ, to be with us through it.
He is an all – the – way – home Saviour!

Please come to Him today while there is yet time to accept Him.

The Lord Jesus Christ wants you to be in Heaven to rejoice with Him through all eternity!.

Gospel Meeting 13/05/2018

Romans ch3 vs22(b) – 23, ch10 vs12 -13.
The Acts ch15 vs7 – 9.

“THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE”.

There has been a recent clamour for gender equality, with many large companies and organisations being made to reveal the different wages they are paying their male and female employees for holding the same positions.

Here, in tonight’s scriptures, three times we find absolute equality, in three absolute facts:
1) “…for there is no difference: For all have sinned…”.
ALL! Without exception, every single one of us.
Fact 1 – The guilt of Man towards God.

2) “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him”.
Fact 2 – The love and grace of God towards Man offers Salvation to ALL people, through His Eternal Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men”
-   Titus ch2 vs11.

3) “…God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe… And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith”
Fact 3 – Again – no difference - whoever you are or whatever race you are from, it is the SAME Gospel that is available to all.

The first man, Adam, was given dominion over all the things that moved upon the Earth (Genesis ch3), but it was not long before He disobeyed God and brought about the fall of man – a dark, foul and fearful reality!

Genesis is a book of beginnings:
Ch3 was the degeneration of Adam and the Human Race, by sinning against God.
Ch4 was the degeneration of the Family, with Cain slaying his brother Abel.
Ch6 was the degeneration of Society – God saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Ch11 was the degeneration of Nations – mans attempt to build a tower reaching up to the heavens, ended with God confusing their one language into many others and scattering them over all the Earth.

Sin is the most awful thing!
Because of our sin, we all fall short of God’s glory and holy standards.
All mankind are sinners by nature, and sinners by practice.
This is the equality of guilt – we are all in the same condition!

Yet God still loves each one of us so very much! ...

“Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity … he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy”.
- Micah ch7 vs18.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved;)
- Ephesians ch2 vs4 – 5.

Happy is the one who confesses his sin, appealing to The Lord Jesus Christ!
Oh dear reader, come to Jesus Christ to be forgiven and saved tonight!
It is the most wonderful thing in life to know the assurance and peace of having all your sins forgiven! To be able to lay your head on the pillow at night, knowing that your eternal destination is Heaven and not Hell!

Calvary’s Cross was God’s long - planned Salvation for all mankind. There on the Cross, God proved His great love for you in the sacrifice of His sinless Son, Jesus Christ.
He laid down His life and gave His spotless blood that you can be fully forgiven and cleansed through it.
Reader, grasp this truth well tonight – God loves YOU!!
Simply come to Jesus Christ in sincere repentance of your sins and accept Him as your Saviour from this time.
The speaker can’t fathom why Holy God would love such a vile, guilty sinner as he, but he knows and accepts that He absolutely does!

The Gospel is simple, that even a child is able to understand, and it is God’s only provision for anyone to be saved.
Whoever you may be, whatever is your race or background, whatever you may have done, Jesus bids you to come and welcomes you with outstretched, loving arms.

“… him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out”
- John’s Gospel ch6 vs37.

You may hear in this present age that there are “many ways to Heaven”, but God has made it crystal clear that this is only possible through the work and person of His beloved Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.

Reader, will you be saved tonight for time and eternity?
Yesterday’s opportunity has gone, tomorrow for you may never come… this day may be your last chance in life!

“… behold, now is the accepted time; now is the day of salvation”.
-   2nd Corinthians ch6 vs2.

There is a Heaven to be gained.
There is a Hell to be shunned.
Both places are factual and eternal… which will be yours dear friend?

Gospel Meeting 06/05/2018

Luke’s Gospel ch4 vs14 – 22.

The speaker returned to this passage of scripture that he previously spoke of a short while ago. Tonight he took up the subject of The Lord’s words from vs18 – “recovering of sight to the blind”.

Here, The Lord’s ministry was in His home town of Nazareth.
He was meeting various people in the synagogue, and would have been invited to preach. His fame was going throughout all the region!
The Lord Jesus Christ chose to read from the book of Isaiah at ch61 to declare to the people exactly who He was – The Messiah!
One more of the many Old Testament prophesies and promises was duly fulfilled –
vs21 “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears”.

The Lord had a wonderful ministry, which is why God sent His Son into this world - to preach the Gospel and eternal Salvation.
This should be our ministry too as Christians, for His further glory.
Life for so many people around us has lost all meaning. So many are broken-hearted, or many are held prisoner by drugs, alcohol and other obsessions. It is truly an evil world in which we live.
However, the great news is that Jesus Christ, Gods Son, came to free you and to save you for eternal life in Heaven.

The Lord physically restored many blind people’s eyes, but a greater blindness blighting humanity is “spiritual blindness” …

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world has blinded them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them”. –
2nd Corinthians ch4 vs3 -4.

The devil has blinded so many people, and all are in need of Jesus Christ to touch their lives and open their eyes.
Christ is the solution!
People who are still living in darkness need to enter into the glorious light of His Gospel.

Jesus Christ demonstrated His great love for us by all that He did in His life, and then in His death for us at Calvary’s Cross. He gave His sinless life as a sacrifice for our sins, to pay the price we couldn’t ever pay ourselves. He rose from the grave after three days, victorious and justified. God The Father fully accepted His beloved Son’s sinless sacrifice.

Reader, are you still unsaved, still spiritually blind?
Then tonight, be like blind Bartimaeus (Marks’s Gospel ch10 vs40 – 52)  – who refused to be silenced by others, but cried out in faith to The Lord Jesus Christ.

“Go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way”. (vs52).

Do not be put off until you are touched!

Simply come to The Lord Jesus Christ in faith. Confess you are sorry for your sins and asking His forgiveness, invite Him into your heart and life as your personal Saviour from this day onwards.
Be assured of an eternal home in Heaven.

Wednesday 2 May 2018

Gospel Meeting 29/04/2018

John’s Gospel ch9 vs1 – 41.

The speaker gave a message on 4 most relevant questions which were asked of Jesus Christ in the above passage of scripture:

1)  vs12 – WHERE IS HE?
Jesus Christ is in Heaven.

“… I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God”.
- John’s Gospel ch20 vs17.
“And it came to pass as he blessed them, he was parted from them and carried up into heaven”.
- Luke’s Gospel ch24 vs51.
“… Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner, as ye have seen him go into heaven”.
- The Acts ch1 vs11.

The Lord Jesus Christ will indeed be returning, to take home all his own people unto Himself. Friend, will you be there?... Do you know Jesus Christ as your Saviour?

2) vs36 – WHO IS HE?
This one could easily take all night!
Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son of God.

“And lo, a voice from heaven, saying,This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”.
- Matthew’s Gospel ch3 vs17.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us”.
- Matthew’s Gospel ch1 vs23.
“And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”.
- Matthew’s Gospel ch16 vs16.
“Nathaniel answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God…”.
-    John’s Gospel ch1 vs49.
“And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God”.
-    Mark’s Gospel ch15 vs39.

Jesus Christ took on humanity.
Why did He leave Heaven to enter into this sin – cursed Earth?... In love He came down to be the Saviour of the world. The only One who was able to be the Saviour of sinners.
He willingly left all the glory of Heaven and took a body that would be crucified on a Cross as payment for the price of all our sins – which we can never begin to pay.
Yes friend, Jesus Christ personally loves YOU and laid down His life to deal with your own sin and its eternal horrific consequences.
If you have never accepted Him as your Saviour, then tonight Jesus Christ is ever still concerned for you, and bids you to come to Him in repentance and faith. He loves you and wants you to be part of His eternal family in Heaven.

3)  vs26 - WHAT DID HE?
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin – foretold centuries earlier – and entered life in a lowly cattle shed.
Our redemption was completely out of our own hands, so Jesus Christ came to us.
In dying at Calvary, He was made sin for us all…. God the Creator of all died for you!
What amazing love!

Jesus Christ rose from the tomb after three days, His sacrificial death, being wholly sinless, was totally accepted by His Father.
Reader, such is His love for you, that He let wicked men nail Him to a Cross and died in great agony!

“Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour”.
- John’s Gospel ch12 vs27.
“Now this is eternal life:  that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent”.
- John’s Gospel ch17 vs3.

Through repentance and faith you are fully able to enter into Heaven and escape Hell!
How can one reject this great Gospel and such a loving Saviour?

This is anyone’s only means of Salvation
Now, Christ is at His Father’s right hand interceding for us, and hearing our every prayer.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
- 1st Epistle of John ch1 vs10.
“… and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”.
-    1st Epistle of John ch1 vs7.

4)  vs17 – WHAT SAYEST THOU OF HIM?
The most personal and relevant question…
Reader, is Jesus Christ your own Saviour or not?

One who was crucified alongside Jesus Christ repented, and acknowledging who He was, said “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom”.
Can you say that from your heart tonight? What an absolute blessing!
It is a terrible eternity for those who reject God’s immense love which was given for us at Calvary.
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation…”.
- Hebrews ch2 vs3.

What is your choice tonight?
It is our earnest prayer that your decision is the same one as the blind man we read of in our passage (vs38) – “Lord, I believe”…. And he worshipped Him.
