Gospel Meeting 23/11/2014

Mr. John Richardson spoke about his skydive and likened it to sin pulling us down.
Religion can't save us, Matthew 15 vs.8-9, James 2 vs.19.
We need to put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Demons know who He is.
Acts 16 vs.30  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,
Money won't save you, Proverbs 11 vs.28, Acts 8 vs.20.
The wages of sin is death.
Possessions/big house won't save you, Matthew 16 vs.24, Luke 12 vs.33-34.
Luke 8 vs.14  And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Friends or family connections can't save you, Matthew 3 vs.9. Acts 4 vs.12

Luke 18 vs.9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10  Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11  The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Good works can't save you, Romans 3 vs.10-12, Ephesians 2 vs.8.
What can save us is God's perfect sacrifice, the Lord Jesus is Holy and He paid the full price for my sin when He died on the cross, He is the only one who can save us.
He is like a parachute that brings us down safely, it is all of God and nothing of me. He holds me and brings me safely down.
John 14 vs.6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Gospel Meeting 16/11/2014

Mr.Stuart Gordon read Ecclesiastes 12 vs.1, Genesis 40 vs.14 and 23, Luke 22 vs.31-34 and vs.60-62, Luke 23 vs.39-43, and Hebrews 10 vs.17.

Ecclesiastes 12 vs.1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth,
Joseph had passed through some difficult circumstances but God knew and God was with him.
The butlers circumstances improved but he forgot Joseph, do we only remember God when things are hard, or do we have nothing to do with Him and then blame Him when things go wrong.
Our lives depend on God even our very breath.

Peter was a very close disciple of the Lord Jesus but he denied Him. The Lord looked at Peter and he realised what he had done and wept.
Mark 16 vs.7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
The Lord had compassion for Peter He still loved him.

The thief.
Luke 23 vs.40  But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41  And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Jesus was bearing our sin in His body on the tree, He was made sin for us, He died to take away our sin God poured out the judgement for our sin on Him.

Hebrews 10 vs.17  And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
He paid the price now we must repent and believe on Him, or we will face the consequences of our sin and take the judgement of God for it ourselves.

Gospel Meeting 09/11/2014

Mr. William Horsborough read John 14 vs.1-31
vs.6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Gospel is a Person.
Jesus is the way, the way is Jesus.
Jesus is the truth, the truth is Jesus.
Jesus is the life, the life is Jesus.
THE WAY, is a person.
Jesus has done the journey and He will lead us along the way to rest and everlasting joy in the Fathers house.
Follow, repent, believe. There is only one way Jesus Christ is the way. You can't earn your way good works will not save you.
Our sins must be dealt with, He is the perfect Saviour, He was sacrificed for us and He rose again, the evidence that His sacrifice worked. He paid the price in full and it is wholly based on Him.
He said "I AM the door".
THE TRUTH, is a person.
He speaks the words of life, the power of His grace.
Romans 10 vs.17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Jesus is the message, He reveals God to us, He is the living truth.
He said "before Abraham was I AM." He shows us the way by the truth.
We can and should trust Him, No lies, no deceit, the truth.
THE LIFE, is a person.
John 1 vs.4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 10 vs.10 I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
This is spiritual life, until sin came in there was no death. Adam and Eve were prevented from coming to the tree of life, but then there was the cross at Calvary.
John 6 vs.47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Not in the future but now. The grave is not the end.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be with Him eternally.
John 11 vs.25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Gospel Meeting 02/11/2014

Mr. Paul Richardson read Luke 5 vs.12-15.
The man full of Leprosy.
Luke reveals Jesus Christ to us as a man and yet He is God. It was an eyewitness account, there was confirmation and certainty.
Only Jesus Christ can deal with our sin, only He can change lives.
The miracles were proof that He is the Son of Man, and Son of God.
He had power over the physical realm and the spiritual realm.
Only God can forgive sins, He was God in flesh.
Leprosy is a picture of sin and it is hereditary, all have sinned, He is the only one who could go to the cross for us to deal with our sin.
Becoming a Christian involves a cost we should leave all and follow Him.
The Leper had reverence, he called Him Lord, and he had faith that Jesus could heal him.
Jesus had compassion and healed him.
Is your Christian faith real has it made a real difference in your life has there been a change.
