Gospel Meeting 30/03/2014

Mr. Rex Maffey assisted by Mr. Lensey Burgess read Luke 15 vs.1-2, and 11-24.
                                                   "The Prodigal Son"
He was fed up
so he packed up
he then raved up
until he was spent up
so he was hard up
until he eventually looked up
then he owned up
then he was dressed up.

He was sick of home until he became homesick.
We must come to our senses and realize that we are sinners before our Father God, who sent His Son to die in our place and through repentance and faith we can be forgiven and have a relationship with God.
Robe of righteousness.
Ring of dignity and honour.
Shoes of sonship
Fatted calf redemption on the basis of the shed blood of Jesus Christ and Eternal blessings in Him and unending joy.
We were lost but now found, dead but now new abundant life.

Ephesians 1vs.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Gospel Meeting 23/03/2014

Mr. Scott Armstrong read 1 Thessalonians 4 vs.13-18
We all have a future!!! it is all the way to Eternity. Where does your future lie? Our plans are uncertain, but Eternity is certain. A Christian's funeral although sad is a celebration and their grave temporary. There is hope for the believer, but despair for the unbeliever. Death is not the end!!
The lord's coming is imminent but not necessarily immediate, it could be today. There is no timescale but it will be when God's purpose is complete. It is only for those who believe, will you be left behind?
When He comes it will be the end of the day of opportunity - 2 Corinthians 6 vs.2  now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Are you ready don't live Eternity with regret. Believe that Jesus the Son of God died and rose again He bore God's complete judgement for sin including yours. He lived a life of compassion and power, He is God but He came to die, there is no one to compare to Him.
Galatians 2 vs.20 the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
He values you and me but our sin keeps us out of Heaven.
We look at sin from our own point of view and not God's point of view we can never meet God's standard, He sees your heart and yet loves you.
He sent His Son to die in our place and if we put our faith in Him God sees us as righteous and fit for Heaven.
He entered death and rose again victorious, because He lives we can live, because He has entered Heaven we can enter Heaven.
The Lord Himself will descend into the sky to take us to be with Him (The Rapture).
A shout, the voice of the Archangel and the trump of God - risen, gathered, and we move on to Heaven.
Satan is the Prince of the power of the air but has already been defeated.
There is a definite possibility that this will happen before we die are you ready, but death is like sleep to the believer.
Will you be left behind to face judgement the only people who will go are those who are saved those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter how good you think you are there will be may "good" people left behind, don't be left behind trust Christ.
These words will continually comfort you.

Gospel Meeting 16/03/2014

Mr. Phillip Gibson read Joshua 2 vs.1-24
Rahab the Prostitute.
God deals with our present.
He has dealt with our past.
A lot of Christians have problems with guilt when we have already been forgiven through faith in God's Son.
Joshua was a spiritual leader he had learnt from Moses but Joshua was the right man for the job in hand. He sent 2 spies not twelve.
Rahab had heard about God and she understood that He was different to the god's of her nation, she knew without a doubt that God would take Jericho and that He was the true God who was in control.
Rahab had faith and she received a new life.
Hebrews 11 vs.31  By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
Matthew 1 vs.5  And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
Isaiah 1vs.18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Matthew 27 vs.28  And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
Scarlet speaks to us of blood and through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus we will be saved.

James 2 vs.24  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Rahab was saved by faith but her works made that evident, she guaranteed that she would bring all her family to the place of safety which wouldn't have been easy for her. Do we tell our family and friends about the way of escape, the way of Salvation.
Rahab went from a position of hopelessness to a position of certain hope.

Gospel Meeting 09/03/2014

Mr. Stuart Gordon read; Genesis 6 vs.5-14 and vs.22.
                                                     7 vs.1 and vs.7 and vs.11-16.
                                                     8 vs.1-4 and 13-14.
                                        Exodus 12 vs.1-7 and 22-28 and 29-31.
                                        John 10 vs.7-10.
The Door a way in, a way out and a door of opportunity.
1/ God shut them in. 2/ Blood applied around the door. 3/ I Am The Door.

1/ The Earth was corrupt and violent then and so it is today, but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, He obeyed God. They went into the Ark and God shut the door then the rain and the flood.
Men had had plenty of opportunity to go into the Ark but they didn't it was now too late. with God's judgement He always provides a way of escape.

2/ Death of the firstborn, God's people could escape this judgement by taking a lamb and killing it and applying it's blood to the door posts and lintel  and they would be protected. The Lord Jesus was the perfect Lamb of God who shed His blood to free us from the judgement.
The destroyer passed over the houses with the blood applied, there was a way of escape from the judgement.

3/ John 10 vs.9  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

vs.11  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

vs.7  Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Protection, Salvation the only way to Heaven.

John 14 vs.6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He bore God's judgement in our place - He gave His life for the sheep so that we could escape God's judgement. Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the World.
There is an escape there is Salvation available to us by repentance and faith.

Gospel Meeting 02/03/2014

Mr. Doug Rea read Psalm 102 vs.24-28
Doug spoke about change and how society is changing so fast and not necessarily for the better, but God never changes.
Malachi 3 vs.6  For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
God expected faithfulness from His people and He would bless them but they weren't faithful.

Hebrews 13 vs.8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
The people had a choice but if they went back to their old ways they would disregard the blood of Christ which was shed for them at Calvary, they should go on in faith and not rely on the law to save them.
God doesn't change and His standards don't change either.
Christian Faith never changes.
It is based on a person -  Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,
He left heaven was crucified, buried, and rose again having conquered death sin and Satan. His death paid the price for my sin.

God's Ethical and Moral Standards don't change.
Society's standards have changed to what is convenient at the time but it's God who sets the standard He is light. Sin is a real problem but people today don't like to mention it.

Personal Accountability doesn't change
We tend to shift the blame even from the days of Adam and Eve, but we have to take responsibility for our own sin, God is not mocked. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is Eternal Life.
God hates sin but He loves the sinner.

The Ultimate Hope does not change.
If we are in Jesus Christ we have a hope for the future that never changes, He saves us He keeps us, He never lets us down, He never lets us go, and we shall spend Eternity with Him.
