Gospel Meeting 16/03/2014

Mr. Phillip Gibson read Joshua 2 vs.1-24
Rahab the Prostitute.
God deals with our present.
He has dealt with our past.
A lot of Christians have problems with guilt when we have already been forgiven through faith in God's Son.
Joshua was a spiritual leader he had learnt from Moses but Joshua was the right man for the job in hand. He sent 2 spies not twelve.
Rahab had heard about God and she understood that He was different to the god's of her nation, she knew without a doubt that God would take Jericho and that He was the true God who was in control.
Rahab had faith and she received a new life.
Hebrews 11 vs.31  By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
Matthew 1 vs.5  And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
Isaiah 1vs.18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Matthew 27 vs.28  And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
Scarlet speaks to us of blood and through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus we will be saved.

James 2 vs.24  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Rahab was saved by faith but her works made that evident, she guaranteed that she would bring all her family to the place of safety which wouldn't have been easy for her. Do we tell our family and friends about the way of escape, the way of Salvation.
Rahab went from a position of hopelessness to a position of certain hope.
