Gospel Meeting 28/08/2014

Dr. Gareth Crossley  read Acts 16 vs.25-34.
vs.17 These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
First of all we must realize that God is Holy, He is the same yesterday today and forever.
He is righteous, He hates all sin, it greatly offends Him. We have all sinned and fall short of God's standard, the only way to put that right is through God's Son Jesus Christ.
We must be sorry for our sin and repent then trust and believe in Him, give your life over to Him in gratitude for dying in our place and live our life for Him.
The Jailer was not afraid of dying but he was afraid of meeting God because he was aware that it was Paul's God who had caused the earthquake.
vs.30 Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,
2 Corinthians 5 vs.21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Repent, Believe and be Baptized.
The Jailer was a changed man he was a rough Roman soldier who then bathed their wounds and fed them, he was saved.
Jesus is God and man
The fact that He is man connects Him with us.
His deity gives His death great power.

Gospel Meeting 21/08/2014

Mr. Mike Wajdner from SASRA (soldiers and airman's scripture readers association) gave a report about the work of SASRA and how that they have access to go along side the forces personnel and bond with them and are able to show them the love of God and explain the scriptures to them. Many have been helped and supported and many have come to faith in Christ as God works through them.
Mike read John 1 vs.1-34.
He spoke about John the Baptist who came to bear witness of the light, there was an expectancy that God was about to do something great and rather than take credit for it himself he describes himself as a voice crying in the wilderness get ready there is one coming who is preferred before me He was before me and i am not worthy to undo His sandals.
Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and through repentance and faith we can receive forgiveness and salvation.
John 10 vs.40  And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.
41  And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
42  And many believed on him there.

Gospel Meeting 14/09/2014

Mr. Bruce Clark read Philippians 2 vs.5-11, Luke 6 vs.27-35 and Matthew 18 vs.21-35.
Law and Grace, Forgiveness and Love.
Forgiveness is powerful and is greater than the law.
We are all responsible for nailing the Lord Jesus to the cross because of our sin, but it was the manifestation of the power and love of God, our obedience to Him should be from love not fear.
Our motivation should be Jesus Christ not our selfish interests, we should be transformed and sacrifice self for Him. We should always remember the cost of our forgiveness and that should make us realise that we should forgive others and forgive ourselves. the cross is central "let this mind be in you."               When I survey the wondrous cross,
On which the King of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast
Save in the death of Christ my God;
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See, from His head, His hands, His feet.
Sorrow and love flow mingled down,
Did ere such love and sorrow meet,
And thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That  were an offering far too small;
Love so amazing so divine,
Demands  my soul, my life, my all.

Gospel Meeting 07/09/2014

Mr. Richard Malcolm read Matthew 14 vs.13, Mark 1 vs.40-42, 6 vs.31-34.
"Moved with compassion"
The Lord Jesus saw their individual need and had a desire to help them and meet their need.
He knows our need, we have a problem with sin and God hates sin and there is no sin in Heaven.
If we have our sin dealt with through Christ we will go to Heaven, if we don't we will go to Hell.
We can hide our sin from others and even ourselves but we can't hide it from God.
God provided the answer to our problem by sending His Son the Lord Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed His precious blood and God punished His Son who He loved for our sin. He died ,was buried and rose again, He has time for us individually, he is the only one who can help us and now is the accepted time. He is coming back at any time and we must be prepared.
His word is a guide book the lead, teach and guide us.
Let the Lord have His way,
In your life everyday,
There’s rest there’s no peace,
Until the Lord has His way,
Place your life in His hand,
Rest secure in His plan,

Let the Lord, Let the Lord have His way.

Report and Gospel Meeting 31/08/2014

Mr. Jack Douglas gave a report of the work in Papua New Guinea in the afternoon and the preached the Gospel in the evening.
Having lived in the Paiawian tribe for many years Jack and Isa now go back to build up and encourage the many believers there who are now spreading the Gospel to others. Jack has translated much of the Scriptures for them after first establishing a written language. they are a semi nomadic tribe of hunter gatherers, but now there are things happening in the area to cause problems for them like drilling for oil and gas and mining for gold. Jack told us of rare places where there was a mobile signal and the young men would be there with a bow and arrow in one hand and a mobile phone in the other. Although some of the young men are being drawn away by the lure of wealth the Gospel is still spreading and the believers are growing in their faith and there is a great thirst for the word of God.

Jack read Colossians 1 vs.15-23
Jesus has dealt with all of our sins.
He is the image of the invisible God
Man was created in God's image, but now we are being changed into His image.
When we see Him we shall be like Him.
If we want to know God we must get to know His Son who is the radiance of His glory.
No one has seen God His Son has made Him known.
For me to live is Christ, it's all about Jesus His preeminence, we have been bought with a price - He shed His blood and died for us so that we might be forgiven and have peace with God through repentance and faith.
