Gospel Meeting 26/02/2017

1 Corinthians 15 vs.1-11.
What is most important in our lives and in our Church.
THE GOSPEL is of first importance and is foundational. Don't get distracted by other things.
Hold fast, the impact of the Gospel, good news of victory.
Historical truth, Christ died, He was buried, He was raised, He appeared.
These things all prophesied in the Old Testament.
Christ (Messiah) died for our sins - the purpose of His death was to take the judgement of God for our sin.
Yes the bad news is our sin which is defiance against God, but God sent His Son to die in our place offering forgiveness through repentance and faith.
Our identity is what Christ has done for us, nothing of our doing all of Him.

Romans 8 vs.18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

1 Corinthians 15 vs.58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Saved from the penalty, presence and power of sin.
It is about Jesus, God is seen in Jesus.

Gospel Meeting 19/02/2017

Psalm 147, Luke 9 vs.18-27.
The one who came from Heaven blessing the poor, the weak, the tax collectors and the prostitutes.
But He received opposition from the religious leaders.
vs.20 But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
There was and still is a clash between unholiness and holiness, but the Spirit of God has worked a miracle in our hearts and lives. We are called not to a playground but to a battleground, so we will be rejected and face opposition and persecution if we walk with the Lord.
How much is your soul worth, it is eternal not temporal like your body and possessions.
God puts a high value on it, how much time do we spend looking after our souls compared to our bodies. Do we read the Scriptures, pray and serve Him enough. We are bought with a price the blood of Christ.
Repent and have faith trust in Him.
Lay up treasure in Heaven, He is coming in glory.
Eternal life is the gift of God Only through the shed blood and death of Jesus Christ.

Gospel Meeting 12/02/2017

Psalm 27, Matthew 5 vs.1-12.
The Beatitudes.
Speaking of future blessing, and present bleesing.
Romans 8 vs.18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Jesus is the one foundation the Rock.
The Beatitudes all speak of the character of Christ, and we should be empowered to live like Him.
Colossians 1 vs.20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
He died and rose again defeating death and Satan that through repentance and faith we will be saved, and know God's love and the power to live it.

THE GREAT HIGH PRIEST
7 VS.25  Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
26  For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
