Mr Terry Martin read from Isaiah 48 vs.16-22
Titled it "Living Life in Peace, Not a Life in Pieces"

People all over the world are searching for a true, lasting peace.
But the world of 2015 is largely without peace.
As with these Israelites, people today have parted from God and have no peace.

Many today say that God does not listen or answer their prayers, but their first prayer should be one of repentance.

The peace that The Lord Jesus gives is a peace that no-one else can give.
The uncertainty in this world is unbelievable, with no end to our problems that confound on a daily basis. But we confront them to The Lord, giving our burdens to Him - and importantly - leaving them there. We don't know the future, but those who know The Lord knows The One who holds the future.

Don't wait until at you're wits end - peace, real peace is in leaving it with Him.
If there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel on life's journey - Israel had become like this, and had to be told they were rebelling, disobeying and forsaken God. Isaiah didn't want to listen to God resulting in no peace.
Same in our country today -  the Empire has gone, through disobedience and rulers who do not want to know God.

However, the way for real, true, deep and everlasting peace is to accept Lord Jesus Christ God's Son, who gives unique peace and rest to our longing hearts.
Scripture tells us:He is "The Prince of Peace", He "having made peace by the blood of his cross", "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding", and "thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, who's mind is stayed on thee".

Surrender your life to Him and receive His peace that flows like a river.

This peace that everyone craves for is a reality. The world looks at people for something they want and don't have, but only through knowing The Lord Jesus can it be received. "My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you".

The challenge is: if you have this peace, what are you doing with it.... are we showing others this and drawing people to Jesus?...sins forgiven and the peace of God enters in!
This is just a taste of what it will be like when we are in the Glory.

Gospel Meeting 18/10/2015

Mr.John Green read Psalm 67 and John 19 vs.17-30.
"It Is Finished."
1/ The man on the cross.
2/ The words from the cross.
3/ The effect of the cross.
4/ The response to the cross.

1/ The man on the cross. The Messiah, The King. He spoke and acted with authority.
He calmed the sea, He healed the sick, He raised the dead, He forgave sin. He was not an impostor He was authentic, He didn't just talk the talk, He walked the walk. He was different He had no sin or deceit, even Pilate could find no guilt in Him. He is the Messiah but He died like a criminal.

2/ The words from the cross. "It is finished." accomplishment, it was accomplished for the past, present and future. It wasn't just a task that had been completed, the purpose for which God had sent Him had been completely fulfilled. He fulfilled the Scriptures.

3/ The effect of the cross. In fulfilling the Scriptures He accomplished the work of Salvation He died on the cross and bore the judgement for sin He paid the price in full. A debt we couldn't pay, He paid it all. We can be free from the penalty and the power of sin in our lives. He rose again and we can live in the power of new life. This was purchased for us through the death of Christ. Then one day we shall go to be with Him and there will be no more crying, pain or tears.

4/ The response to the cross. It is not something you can earn, it is not about us it is all about Him. We just have to repent and trust Him, experience God's grace, cast ourselves on Him and enjoy the peace and joy He gives,

Gospel Meeting 11/10/2015

Mr. Paul Jackson read Luke 6 vs.39-49.
"Follow the Right Guide"
The blind leading the blind.
The beam and the spec.
Bad fruit and good fruit.
Bringing forth treasure.
Building houses.

Are you blind, lost in sin. Have you trusted Jesus Christ for Salvation.
Are you aware of your big problem sin.It will take you to Hell. It is so serious that God sent His Son to die on the cross to deal with it, so put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness and Salvation.
We can recognise a tree by it's fruit, Christians should demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit.
Galatians 5 vs.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

2 Corinthians 5 vs.21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Have we got the right foundation we might look fine on the outside but are our lives built on the rock which is Christ. Will we hear and do.

GOSPEL MEETING 04/10/2015

Dr. Gareth Crossley read Mark 8 vs.34-38
"The cost of discipleship"

Romans 5 vs.6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

It is not easy to be a Christian, we need to deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Him.
He doesn't ask us to do anything that He wasn't prepared to do Himself. He denied Himself and was crucified to bear God's judgement for sin so that we might be saved,

Philippians 2 vs,5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We must take up our cross to demonstrate our Salvation.
He is God but was obedient to death even the death of the cross, He was punished as though He was the worst sinner.
Headship; Husbands are the head and wives should be in submission to them.

We must be the slave of Jesus Christ and submit ourselves to the will of God not just sometimes but every moment of every day.

Romans 6 vs.17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Isaiah 45 vs,20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
21  Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
22  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
23  I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Philippians 2 vs.10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
