Gospel Meeting 23/02/2014

John Richardson read Psalm 49 vs.1-20, 1 Peter 1 vs.17-23, and Psalm 116 vs.12-19.

1/  (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
2/  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
3/  Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

1/Psalm 49 starts with a call to pay attention.
Why because we all have the same certainties. It is appointed unto man once to die.
But we have different destinations. after death the judgement.
No one can buy redemption it is precious very costly. It doesn't matter who we are rich or poor, clever or not, big house or small etc. etc.
The Psalm is addressed to all people its about truth and life, God is Love, God is Holy. We are sinners and there will be the judgement at the Great White Throne and then the Lake of Fire.
But there is a way to be saved through the love of God.

2/ Through the precious blood of Christ God has put in place a way of Salvation through His Son (God the Son) the Holy One gave Himself as a sacrifice and shed His Precious blood at Calvary.
There is no need to continue to sacrifice animals as His Sacrifice is sufficient for us. We all fall short of God's standard but He is our substitute He died for us we deserved that death. We need to repent and accept God's Son. Then we have a living hope and He keeps us in that hope.

3/ We are precious to God we can't understand why but we are and particularly as His people we are precious to Him in life and in death when we go to be with our Saviour.
So trust Christ now and have that living hope and enjoy the precious things God has for us in Christ.

Gospel Meeting 16/02/2014

Mr. David Flett read Luke 15 vs.11-32
Grace Mercy Forgiveness. There is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents.
It is a story about encouragement, hope and love. You have an opportunity to make a decision for Christ, or if you have wandered away to return to Him with the assurance that He will accept you and give you peace. Christ has paid the price on the cross by dying for us.
Acts 4 vs.12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The prodigal son wanted his own way and turned his back on his fathers love.
Proverbs 14 vs.12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
James 1 vs.15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Sin can never satisfy.
Hebrews 11 vs.25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
When things got tough he attached himself to a man rather than God to solve his problems it didn't work.
Today we have an abundance of Bibles but people refuse to believe God and His Word and there is so much ignorance about the Word of God and what is in it.
A life without God leads to foolishness, fear, no purpose, no light, no hope, no foundation, then death and Eternity in Hell.
John 3 vs.16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 John 3 vs.1 ¶  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:
Eventually he came to his senses and appreciated his position and how foolish he had been, we too must also accept that we are sinners before God and turn to Him.
Psalm 51 vs.1 ¶  « To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. » Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2  Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3  For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4  Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6  Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 ¶  Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8  Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9  Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11  Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13  Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 ¶  Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15  O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16  For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Galatians 6 vs.7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
The wages of sin is death.
We can go from certain death to certain life.
He didn't make excuses he took responsibility for his own sin and returned in repentance as he was and was accepted gladly by his father as too God will accept us gladly if we come to Him for Salvation or restoration. He shows us compassion and love, and gives us free forgiveness.
Christ made Himself of no reputation for us He died that we might life we were lost but now are found. It is all of Him come as you are and accept Him as your Saviour He died for you.

Gospel Meeting 09/02/2014

Mr. Stephen Downes read Genesis 4 vs.1-8, Matthew 7 vs.13-14, and Luke 16 vs.19-31
His subject was "The Only Way To God."
2 Brothers, 2 Ways, 2 Places.
1/ Cain's sacrifice was not acceptable it was of the ground and bloodless.
Cain went out from the presence of the Lord.
Able brought a lamb he knew the shedding of blood was necessary, his sacrifice was accepted.
Christ was our sacrifice He shed His Precious Blood and He was accepted by God.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Adam and Eve were clothed by God with skins which would have meant blood being shed.
They were thrust out of the Garden of Eden because of their sin.

2/ Acts 4 vs.12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 14 vs.6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Broad and Narrow, Life and Death, Blessing and Cursing. - choose life.
Christ or Satan, Heaven or Hell.
Proverbs 16 vs.25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

3/ He was God He took on flesh, the Son of God Became the Son of Man to be the Saviour of man.
He died but there was no need for Him to die but He died in our place and rose again gloriously on the third day. so there is a choice to make trust Christ and go to Heaven or reject Christ and go to Hell.

Gospel Meeting 02/02/2014

John Green read Matthew 5 vs.1-16 "ye are the light of the world."
Christians are here to make an impact.
1/Christianity should be public not private.
2/ There is no impact without contact.
3/ It should be corporate not individual.
4/ It should Glorify God, it's about Him not me.
Are you in darkness with no joy, no peace, no future. Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for our sin to give us forgiveness and take away our darkness and give us hope for the future and joy and peace. We must come humbly and kneel at the cross in repentance and faith to receive this Salvation
