Gospel Meeting 15/12/2013

Phillip Gibson read 2 Corinthians 8 vs. 1-12
His subject was the ABC of Christmas, he challenged us about our giving.
Phillip centred his thoughts around-
 2 Corinthians 8 vs.9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Material wealth fades away but we can be rich in the things that really matter, Grace, Love, Peace, Joy, and Kindness, these are the riches we can display to others in our lives because Jesus became poor and He died for us on the cross.

Colossians 1 vs.5  For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6  Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

Ephesians1 vs.7  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8  Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
It will not always be plain sailing and when we fail God's love is extended to us even more to get through it.

These riches can only be enjoyed by those who have turned from their sin and put their complete faith and trust in the Lord Jesus who died for us.
