Gospel Meeting 19/10/2014

Dr. Gareth Crossley read John 1 vs.43-51
John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit from birth, this was both unusual and unique.
He understood that all prophecies came together in Christ. He is the Messiah, King of Israel, Lamb of God and the Son of God.
They had been waiting for this time- the coming of the Messiah. It was necessary for Christ to suffer and to die the Prophets had foretold it, the evidence is there if you don't believe it you will be held accountable by God.
God raised Him from the dead, God had said this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.
Nathaniel know that the Messiah wouldn't come from Nazareth, come and see.
An Israelite indeed no guile, by birth and by spirit.
Psalm 32 vs.1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2  Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
We are all sinners, we all have seriously offended God, children of wrath.
The closer we are to God the more conscious of our sin we are.
By God's grace Jesus has paid our price in full, God held nothing back He poured out His judgement for sin on His Son (who He loved), and Jesus bore it willingly, He died for me.
We are helpless and hopeless sinners, but through true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ we can have forgiveness and all blessings in Him.
He is the only way of Salvation, the only way to Heaven, the only way to have peace with God.
