Gospel Meeting 11/09/2016

Mr. Paul Richardson read Mark 10 vs.45-52
"Bartimaeus"
Jesus was determined to go to Jerusalem, in order to die on a cross.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for Bartimaeus to meet the Lord Jesus.
Proverbs 27 vs.1  Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Jesus was God manifest in flesh, but He came to serve not to be served, and to lay down His life as a ransom.
Bartimaeus realised his own need, and he knew who Jesus was and he knew He could heal him, he had faith.
The god of this world has blinded many eyes, and will do all he can to stop you being saved.
Think about it, understand your position before God as a guilty helpless sinner, then repent and give your heart to Him by faith. Jesus changes lives.
He saves immediately and He is with us, but the "world" might cast us out and we may have to stand alone.
Bartimaeus followed Jesus to Jerusalem and enjoyed fellowship with Him.
Take up your cross and follow Him, it is not easy but the rewards are great and it is worth it.
Is it a reality in your life, is it evident that you follow Jesus in your speech, actions, and behaviour.
If you stand with Him people will hate you, but we have a home in heaven for Eternity.

Gospel Meeting 04/09/2016

Mr.Fred Beevers read 1 Samuel 8 vs.1-6, 17 vs.8-10 and Luke 15 vs.11-23.
Give me, Give us.
1 John 2 vs.16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Men have a need to be satisfied, but we can never find satisfaction until we know God.
Sin came into the world and unless we do something about our sin we face eternal separation from God. There is a Heaven, and there is a Hell.
We have all come short of God's standard.
Men say give me, but God gave us the greatest gift and that is His Son Jesus Christ. He gave Himself and shed His blood to satisfy God's righteous judgement.
2Corinthians 8 vs.9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
He was born and laid in a manger, He had no home,no coin. He washed His disciples feet.
He took what we deserved upon Himself when He died in our place.
So what have we to do;
Think about your position before God.
Go to God.
Understand and confess your sin.
Give your heart and life to Him.
Then you will have forgiveness, a relationship with God a friend and a Saviour. A home in Heaven.

Gospel Meeting 28/08/2016

Mr. Doug Rea read Job 19 vs.23-29.
If there is a God of love, why is there so much suffering in the world?
Example are Syria, Italy, Paris.
It is a very real, relevant and reasonable question.
We will all have suffering of some level in our lives, and many ask "why me"?
Job was no different - He was an upright worshipping man, yet in spite of losing all he could still say"I know my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth"
Job knew there was an after life. His friends said he was suffering because of his life and the way he was living.Job knew he was flawed and failed, but did not believe this was the reason for his suffering.
He thought he was close to death- "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement" and wanted people to know that these truths would be known in the future,in his own words vs 23/24.
"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus Christ,is the Son of God,and that  believing ye might have life through His name.
There is an assurance of a peace for us in heaven for those who believe.
God made the way by the perfect sacrifice for our sins, through Jesus Christ - who was perfect man and perfect God _ Jesus paid the debt we could not pay.
Jesus is the true God. not a God.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".
Jesus as a man knew weariness, hunger, thirst, yet was apart from sin, - "which of you convicts me of sin? His closest followers said He did no sin, thought no sin, a life of sinlessness.
Job Knew with full hope and assurance a Saviour was coming.
"Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me"
Job Knew he would see Him face to face.
Like Job,one day we believers will see Him with our eyes and behold Him.

Gospel Meeting 21/08/2016.

Mr. Jonathan Gibson read Song of Solomon 1 vs.1-3, 4 vs.6-7, 5 vs.10-16.
2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
The love of the Lord Jesus is greater than any other love, relationship with God.
The Lord Jesus died for us and we are free, His sacrifice means we can have forgiveness.

Psalm 85 vs.10  Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Psalm 2 vs.12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Myrrh -  bitterness, His death and burial, an offering of a sweet smell to God. The Lord Jesus is the sin bearer, He bore our sin. We have reassurance.
Song of Solomon 4 vs.7  Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

Song of Solomon 5 vs.16  His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
He is altogether lovely.
Is He your beloved, is He your Shepherd, have you got a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.
First of all we need to be saved and then grow and go on with Him.

1 Corinthians 1 vs.23  But we preach Christ crucified,

Gospel Meeting 14/08/2016

Mr. Steve Clegg read Job 7 vs.1-10, Job 14 vs.1-5, James 4 vs.14.

James 4 vs.14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

What is your life?
When your life ends what then?

Through Adam and Eve sin came into the world, so then we are all sinners.

Romans3 vs.23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6 vs.23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Proverbs 14 vs.12  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Romans 5vs.8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus was born in Nazareth, He was falsely accused, tried and nailed to a cross. there was no fault in Him but it was God's plan worked out. Sin had to be punished so God punished Him for our sin, my sin.
As sinners we need to turn from our sin repent and accept Him as our Saviour, then we will be forgiven and made fit for Heaven. It is a serious choice of Heaven or Hell.

Galatians 2 vs.20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

What are you relying on, you have one brief life make the right decision.
Jesus is coming back for those that trust Him.
God is on the Throne, He is in control.

Psalm 2 vs.1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5  Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

Gospel Meeting 07/08/2016

Mr. Joshua Kaye read Mark 1 vs.16-18, Romans 10 vs.9.
Mark 1 vs.16  Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
17  And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
18  And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

Romans 10 vs.9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Repentance, Faith, and Confession of Christ are essential components for Salvation. Jesus lived, died, rose again to bring about our Salvation we should not be ashamed of Him.

Joshua gave a report of his and Kerry's visit to DR Congo.

Gospel Meeting 31/07/2016

Mr. Andrew Elliott read John 11 vs.1-8, 11-32, and 41-46, and John 14 vs.1-6.
John 11 vs.25  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

John 14 vs.6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The I AM'S.
Bread - sustenance.
Light - understanding, wisdom, enlightenment.
Door - security,care.
Good Shepherd - paid the price for us to be able to enter the Door.
Vine - expectations on us to follow in His character.

The title Jesus used of I AM speaks to us of who He really was - His power. He was, He is, He will be the I AM.

The Resurrection and the Life - bringing back to life or causing to stand again. Jesus rose again He is the source of resurrection. We are raised from spiritual death to Eternal Life.

Revelation 1 vs.18  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Ephesians 2 vs.1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

We have Eternal Security.

We experience great blessings as Christians but in the future there is far more awaiting us than we could ever imagine.

I am the way, the truth, and the life:

The Way - one way Jesus is the only way, He died to pay the price for our sin, He bore the judgement of God for us.

The Truth - The Bible is God's word the truth, Jesus is the Word. God's purposes WILL be worked out.

The Life -  there is no Salvation in any other.
Acts 4 vs.12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Believest thou this - Do you believe, have you trusted Jesus for your souls Salvation, and have you got Eternal security. It's the only way to Heaven, and the only escape from Hell.
