Gospel Hall News

Gospel Meetings continue weekly: Paul Richardson of Harrogate led our meeting on Sunday 12th September using the texts Romans 1 18-23 and John 15 21-22. One of his points was that atheists are motivated by a desire to evade being responsible for their acts.

David Heyhoe of Hull led our meeting on 19th September using verses from Jeremiah 17 and emphasized the spiritual truth that salvation depends not on doing "good works" but on trusting in what God has done in the Life, Death and Resurrection of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

We were pleased to have as visitors, Jack and Isa Douglas last Lord's Day. During the afternoon Jack gave a report on the ongoing work amongst the Pawaia, a people group in Papua New Guinea amongst whom Jack and Isa lived as missionaries for many years. Jack then led the Gospel meeting reading from Luke 2 and Matthew 22, asking the questions:what does it mean to be a Christian? how can we be made fit for heaven? What do you think of the Son of God?
