Gospel Meetings

On 22nd August Phillip Martin of our own assembly conducted the Gospel Meeting, preaching the Good News of Salvation freely offered in Christ Jesus and made some remarks concerning the priority of Gospel preaching in the life of the assembly and its ongoing work. The meeting began with a reading with commentary of Psalm 34.

We were blessed with the presence of visiting friends, Phillip and Lianne Tilsney with their two young children of County Down, Northern Ireland. Mary Midgley of Burniston and her son Andrew were also present.

Ewing Cross of Huddersfield led our meeting on 29th August with readings from Acts 25 23 &26 and ch. 26 1-3 and 24-29. He explained the meaning of the word "Christian"

Rex Maffey of Leeds led our meeting tonight, 5th September with readings from Psalms 1 1-3, 22 1-3, 14 1-3 and 32 1-2. He presented the Faithful Man [the Lord Jesus], Him Forsaken, the filthy man [all of us] and the forgiven man - he who has trusted the Saviour for Salvation.

Pray for our visitor, Alan a man recently discharged from Army Service due to injuries received and also visiting friends from Consett in County Durham, Keith and Lorraine Rodd who shared with us in the Breaking of Bread.

The girls 11+ group enjoyed a barbecue on Friday 3rd September.
The full programme of children's work begins tomorrow after the summer break.

We were pleased to see Audrey Jones among us once more following her recent operation and recovery programme. Praise the Lord!
