Bruce Clark from Scarborough compared the selfish life to the generous life, grabbing vs. giving. The more we try to hold on to something the less we enjoy but the divine principle is the more we give away the more we have. It is more blessed to give than to receive. Bruce read the story of the feeding of the five thousand in John Chapter 6. A little boy had some loaves and fishes. By giving them to Jesus, Jesus was able to feed five thousand people in need, far more than just satisfying the hunger of one little boy. God gave His Son for us as a sacrifice for sin on the cross that we can know forgiveness and eternal riches in heaven.
