GOSPEL MEETING 14/10/2012

Paul Frankish from Normanton  brought his son Ben who gave a report of the work of Sport Outreach which he was involved in at Clapham in the Yorkshire Dales this summer where young people got to do sports and activities but also heard the Gospel and 6 kids got saved which was a great encouragement for him and us.
Paul read from Mark 1 vs.40-45 He spoke about knowing God he refered to Hebrews 1
1 ¶  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Paul also referred to Philippians 2
5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
not only knowing God but being like Him.
We were encouraged to read a gospel through in one sitting to get a real sense of the character of the Lord Jesus.
Then from the passage in Mark 1 he compared leproyt to sin and the damage it causes. People are deceived by Satan into thinking they are ok but first of all they must realize that they are sinners before a Holy God and that He is the only one who can help as in the passage He reaches out in compassion although it meant Him being defiled or cursed.
We should endevour to be like Him and reach out to others with compassion in our witness.
