Sunday Evening Gospel Meeting 21/10/2012

Craig Maffey (Leeds) spoke. The reading was from Isaiah Ch 53 and Acts Ch 8. The cross is central to the message of the gospel. Isaiah 53 prophesied Christ's death over 700 years before Jesus Christ died on the cross. In verse 3 we see His sufferings for men, His rejection for us. In verse 4 we have His sufferings with men, He endured human sufferings. Most importantly in verse 5 we have His sufferings for men, He died for our transgressions (ours sins). The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6 v. 23).
