GOSPEL MEETING 30/12/2012

Lam. 3 vs.21-31

Romans 5 vs.1-6

I would like to remind us today about Hope, there is a lot of sadness and grief in the world today and we are not immune from it, and through it all we can know God’s strength and know that He is the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end the first and the last there is nothing greater than God.

There is a hope in which we can trust and we know that His word will come to pass.

Romans15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

James 5 vs.8  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

1 John 3 vs. 1 ¶  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

We know that the Lord Jesus will come again and take us to be with Him.

Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

If we belong to Christ we know that our future is secure and although we face tough trials and difficulties in Him we have a glorious future and He is our friend and guide our rock through life. He has faced trials and all sorts of problems whilst here and He can fully sympathise with us.

As we heard at the Carol Service  since the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ things have change the promised Messiah has come and we can have a personal relationship with God. The Saviour came to save and He died on the cross at Calvary and shed His precious blood so that if we trust Him and turn from our sin we are forgiven and made fit for Heaven and then enjoy the certain  Hope for a glorious future, and the peace joy and love that only God can give while we wait for His appearing.

 John 14 vs.1-3.

1 Thess. 4 vs.13-18.

God’s desire is that we will spend eternity with Him and He went to great lengths to make that possible. If we are not saved we need to take advantage of His offer of Salvation and if we are saved we need to remind ourselves of the great future we have and the place we have in God’s heart  and to cast ourselves upon in during our lives while we wait for Him to come for us.
