Gospel Meetings 27/12/2015 & 03/01/2016

Dr. Gareth Crossley spoke at both meetings.
The first one he spoke about suffering in the world and although it is not good to suffer God can use it for our blessing. He also spoke about how that God suffered in Jesus Christ far more than we could suffer when He died on the cross to bring about our Salvation.
This week Gareth read Romans 6 vs.16-23.
"Slavery"
Romans 6 vs.23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Is slavery always a bad thing? Some chose to remain slaves and had their ears pierced to show that they loved their masters and wanted to continue with them.
Paul, Peter, Jude and James all referred to themselves as slaves of Jesus Christ. We can't repay God for what He has done for us, but we can tell/show Him how much we love Him.
We are either slaves to sin/Satan, which brings death and separation from God and all thats good, and we are under the judgement of God which is final.
OR
We are slaves to righteousness/God/Jesus Christ. The free gift of God is eternal life, fullness of joy, happiness, holiness and pleasures for evermore.
The Gospel should not be accepted as mere obedience of the will or emotion of the heart but through the mind understanding the doctrine and teaching of the good news of the Gospel.
Jesus became a man conceived by the Holy Spirit He is without sin. He is God our righteousness, He never sinned and always did what was right and pleased His Father.
"It is finished" -  triumph and victory.
He became what He most detested sin He bore the penalty of our sin on the cross. We must see ourselves from  God's viewpoint and repent of our sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
