Gospel Meeting 31/01/2016

REVELATION 5 vs.1-14. REVELATION 20 vs.1-3, 10-15, 21 vs.1-4.

I would like to speak tonight about Jesus Christ the Alpha and Omega the Beginning and the End, the Lion and the Lamb.
There is a choice to be made to be in Christ and have life, or to ignore or refuse His offer of Salvation and suffer Eternal separation from God and judgement.
         I would like to pick some things out of Revelation, I don’t profess to be an expert and some of it is quite difficult to interpret, but tonight we will be simple and straightforward. It is all about Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1 vs.16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

He created all things in the beginning and we read in Revelation that He will resolve all things on earth. God’s plans and purposes will always be worked out, He is in control.
In Revelation chapter 5 we read about Jesus being the only one who could and had the right to open the seals which I don’t intend going into detail about but just to say the seals initiated the events that draw things on this earth to an end. It is interesting to see that He is described as a lion and a lamb.
    He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, He was led as a lamb to the slaughter when He was crucified at Calvary and bore the judgement of God for us, He shed His precious blood.
    He is also described as the Lion of the tribe of Judah and that conveys to us strength and courage the sort of characteristics you would expect from someone who was about to do something nobody else could do, I think it is lovely that when John looked he saw a lamb which conveys to us gentleness and meekness.

It made me think of that Hymn;
“Join all the glorious names
Of wisdom, love, and power,
That mortals ever knew,
That angels ever bore:
All are too mean to speak His worth,
Too mean to set my Saviour forth.”

“He is altogether lovely.”

The final judgement of God the Great White Throne is where God deals with Satan death and sin once and for all, and everyone will be judged for their sin and they all will be cast into the Lake of Fire. That is final no excuses, no exceptions, no second chances, that is it Eternal Judgement.
Will you be there?
Before this happens there is the Judgement Seat of Christ as we read in;

Romans 14vs.10 .....for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Romans 14 vs.12  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

2 Corinthians 5 vs.10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Christians, people whose names are written in the Lambs Book of Life. Will be assessed by Him and rewarded according to their lives for Him.

John 3 vs.36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

If you repent and put your faith in Jesus Christ it means that He has born the Great White Throne judgement for you, you will not be there or have to face it. Because He bore the wrath of God on the cross in your place.
We shall be with Him and shall be like him forever.

1 Corinthians 2 vs.9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I said at the beginning that there was a choice, it’s not a choice that takes a lot of thinking about.
Eternal life or Eternal death.
Heaven or Hell.
Jesus or Satan.
Reward or punishment.
Forgiveness or accountability.

If the Spirit of God is working in your heart and convicting you of your sin and your need of Christ take this opportunity with both hands you might not get another chance.
Revelation 22 vs.1  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 22 vs.20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye;
All is peace for evermore on that happy golden shore,
What a day glorious day that will be!

There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no more pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me.
What a day glorious day that will be!

What a day that will be when my Saviour I shall see!
And I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand, and leads me through the promised land.
What a day glorious day that will be!
