Gospel Meeting 20/03/2016

Mr. Lee McDade read Matthew 21 vs.1-11, and Psalm 51.
Lee gave a short report of the work of SASRA at Catterick.

God is always there even in the dark places.
1/ The cost of committing sin.
2/ The cost of confessing sin.
3/ The cost of cleansing sin.

1/ In Psalm 51 we see that the cost of committing sin is physical, spiritual, loss of purity and a guilty conscience. It affects your eyes, ears, lips, mind, heart and spirit.

2/ If you mess up fess up, confession costs something it is not casually saying sorry.
vs.17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

3/ The death of the Lord Jesus has made our cleansing possible, He gave His life and shed His blood on the cross. A soldier through himself on a hand grenade to save his friends, Christ gave Himself that we might live.

1 John 1 vs.5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 ¶  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

We can be forgiven because of what Jesus did, it is all about Jesus.
We must never forget our first love for Him and keep focused on Him.
