Gospel Meeting 26/06/2016

Dr. Gareth Crossley read John 4 vs.7-14, John 7 vs.37-39.
"Deep and lasting satisfaction in Christ."
The feast of Tabernacles.
John 1 vs.17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 10 vs.4  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Moses was told to strike the rock the first time and to speak to it the second time. Christ could only suffer and die once.
Christ died, He rose, He ascended. He completed the work of Salvation, if we repent and put our faith in Him we will be saved and be indwelt by the Holy Spirit through the New Covenant. There is no satisfaction without Christ and the Spirit.
If Jesus had come today He would be going to places we wouldn't approve of and meeting people that we wouldn't want to know, are we reaching out with the Gospel.

John 7 vs.38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Gospel Meeting 19/06/2016

Dr. Gareth Crossley read John 5 vs.31-47.

The Good News of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
There needs to be 2 or better 3 witnesses.
John the Baptist -
John1 vs.29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30  This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31  And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32  And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
34  And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
35  Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
36  And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

Miracles -
John 3 vs.1  There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2  The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Jesus performed many miracles and He was unique in the amount and variation of them.

The Scriptures -
Luke 24 vs.27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
John 5 vs.39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

The Father -
Matthew 16 vs.16  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

The Spirit -
John 15 vs.26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

The significance of having Jesus the Son of God as our Saviour can never be over emphasised

1 John 4 vs.10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Propitiation means the the death of the Lord Jesus at Calvary is fully accepted by God as complete payment for the judgement we deserve for our sin, Christ died in our place so that we can be forgiven if we repent and put our complete trust in Him. Our lives are personally touched by the Son of God.

Gospel Meeting 12/06/2016.

Mr. John Richardson read 1 Kings 10 vs.1-7 Luke 10 vs.13-16.
"Behold, a greater than Solomon is here".
It is the Queens 90th. birthday, she has said in one of her speeches that "Although we are capable of great acts of kindness, we still need saving from ourselves, our recklessness and our greed. God has sent a unique person a Saviour with the power to forgive".
The Queen although great acknowledges that she answers to a grater power and needs a Saviour.
King David who was a man after God's own heart says that he was born in sin.
Jeremiah 17 vs.9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
There is no distinction all have sinned.

In another speech the Queen says that "For me the life of Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace is an inspiration and an anchor. a role model of reconciliation and forgiveness. He stretched out His hands in love and forgiveness".

Romans 5 vs.6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God sent His Son to die so that we might live.

The Queen in another speech says "To many of us our beliefs are of fundamental importance. The teachings of Christ and my own accountability before God provide a framework on which I will try and lead my life. I like so many of you have drawn comfort from the words and example of Christ."

Hebrew 9 vs.27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
We are all accountable to God;

If we are unsaved we are accountable to God for what we have done with His Son.
If we are saved we are accountable to God for what we have done for His Son.

Acts 16 vs.31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,

Jesus Died on the cross to bear the judgement of God in our place we need to repent and believe.

Revelation 20 vs.11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

1 Thessalonians 4 vs.13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

We can comfort or encourage each other with these things, that we can escape God's jugement if we are in Christ our Saviour

Gospel Meeting 05/06/2016

Mr. Scott Armstrong read Genesis 5 vs.21-24, Hebrews 11 vs.5-6 Jude vs.14-15.
"Enoch"
1/ He chose to walk with God.
2/ He lived by faith.
3/ He pleased God.
4/ He had amazing beliefs.
5/ He skipped death.

1/ Will you choose to side with God or against Him. He sent His Son to lay down His life for us, the way is open it is your personal choice.
2/ Any relationship with God is based on faith, we can only be saved by faith and we must live by faith. Faith alone, Christ alone.
3/ Enoch's reputation was that he pleased God, and we can please God by faith.Jesus pleased His Father in every way, and His death full satisfied a Holy God as He bore the judgement for us. God raised Him from the dead.
4/ He believed in God.
He believed in seeking God.
He believed in future reward.
He believed in future judgement.
"The Lord of all creation became the crucified"
Jesus is 100% God and 100% man.
5/ "The sky not the grave is our goal."
If yo are not saved you will be left behind to face judgement.

Gospel Meeting 29/05/2016

Mr. Terry Martin read Ephesians 2 vs.4-10.
"The greatest real true lasting love is God's love."
God's love for us is sincere, unique with no devious motives, and is open to all just for the asking and its for all Eternity.

1/ A love that's not wanted-
1 John 4 vs.10  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

2/ A love that's not desired-
Romans 5 vs.8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

3/ A love at great cost-
John 3 vs.16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

4/ A love with a sure and certain hope for the future.-
John 14 vs.1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

5/ A love that we can never be separated from.
Romans 8 vs.38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those that refuse God's Salvation will be lost forever in Hell.
Are we ready to meet God on the judgement day.

Gospel Meeting 22/05/2016

Mr. Rex Maffey read Luke 18 vs.35-43  and 9-19, Luke 17 vs.11-19, Luke 16 vs.19-31.
MERCY.
Micah 7 vs.18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
1/ Blind man - Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. He will always hear. the blind man realised his need Jesus had mercy on him. We can be spiritually blind.
2/ The Pharisee thought he was upright - pride.
The Publican was not upright - humility.
God be merciful to me a sinner.
Jesus voluntarily laid down His life on the cross so that we could experience God's mercy and forgiveness.
3/ The lepers were in the outside place.
Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
Jesus had love and compassion on them, but only one showed gratitude. Are we grateful to God for all His goodness to us, do we "follow" Him.
Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty, at Calvary!
4/ The begger went to a place of blessing.
The rich man went to a place of torment.
Father Abraham, have mercy on me,
He could see, speak, hear, feel, remember, recognise and reason, he was in torment. Hell is a real place, Heaven is a real place.
Cast yourself on God's mercy repent and put your faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus for Salvation.

Gospel Meeting 15/05/2016

Mr. Alistair Patterson read Ephesians 1 vs.1-14
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
What does forgiveness mean to you. - To pardon, let off, to give up my right to inflict you for inflicting me.
Forgiveness is not granted because it is deserved, forgiveness is difficult.
Why do we need forgiveness from God.
Romans 3 vs.23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
The penalty for sin,-
Romans 6 vs.23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
A ransom price was paid; 1 Peter 2 vs.24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,
Jesus brings a wonderful Salvation, we are reconciled to God, and have peace, the debt of our sin is paid.
We cannot earn it it is not D.I.Y. it is all about Christ.
1 John 1 vs.9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We must repent the Prodigal Son repented and acted upon it. Make sure you are right with God.
Once forgiven we should be prepared to forgive others.
