Sunday 18th November

Thomas Truman (Leeds City Mission) gave a report on the work of the Mission; the work with the homeless, in the prison, police cells; prayer walks; open air preaching; and the planned charity shop. Unfortunately due to financial pressures the bookshop in Leeds Market had to close.
Thomas read from 1 Corinthians 15 vs 1-11 and talked about the importance of the gospel to believers. The gospel is the central theme of the Bible and we need to keep reminding ourselves of the central things of our faith. That Christ dies for our sins, that He was buried and that He rose again.
The Gospel is of first importance in our lives. We are to practice, preach and pray it.
Practice it by living in the freedom that God gives us through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins.
Preach it - live it out in our lives and tell others about the hope of the gospel through Jesus Christ.
Pray - we are to draw close to God in prayer and ask Him to lead and guide us in our service for Jesus Christ.
