David gave an outline of the Bible to show the origin of sin and the importance of the coming to this world of Jesus Christ and His death on the cross.
1/ What is the seed?
2/ Wayside.
3/ Stony Places.
4/ Thorns.
5/ Good Ground.
1/ The Seed is the word of God.
Jesus came to save His people from their sins, He died and rose again so that our sin could be dealt with. We need to believe and trust Him in order to have our sin forgiven and go to Heaven.
2/ Wayside.
vs.19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
3/ Stony Places.
vs.20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
vs.21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
4/ Thorns.
vs.22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
5/ Good Ground.
vs.23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
How do we respond to the word of God, we should endeavor to be receptive good ground and produce 100 fold and receive the "Well done good and faithful servant."
