Gospel Meeting 01/06/2014

Mr. David Flett read Luke 23 vs.32-47 and 24 vs.1-8
Three Crosses
One man had sin on Him but not in Him. The Cross of Redemption.
One man had sin in him and on him. The Cross of Rejection.
One man had sin in him but not on him. The Cross of Reception.

When sin came in God asked where art thou?
When the Saviour came men asked where is He?

1/ All out guilt and punishment was laid on Him. He shed His precious blood. Why? because He truly loves us beyond measure.
He died was buried but the grave could not hold Him, He arose. The cross still has it's saving power today.
2/ He died without making peace with God, he went to a lost Eternity in his sin, his heart was hardened there was no remorse.
Today people harden their hearts towards Him people don't even like to hear the Saviours name mentioned, there is a growing hatred against Him.
3/He was sorry and he admitted his guilt, he put his faith in Christ the sinless one. He was condemned to death on earth but assured of a life in Heaven. "The vilest offender that truly believes that moment from Jesus a pardon receives."
He was a sinner saved by grace through faith.
People today still think it is necessary to contribute in some way to their Salvation but it is the free gift of God through Christ.
He believed Jesus was sinless.
He called Him Lord.
He believed He had a kingdom.
He believed that He was going to that kingdom.
He believed that He had authority in that kingdom.
He believed that there was life after the cross.
What is your decision is like the 2nd man or the 3rd man will you repent and put your trust in the Saviour.
