Gospel Meeting 29/06/2014

Mr. Jim Locke read Luke 13 vs.1-9, 23-29, 32-35.
Jim explained that this passage was addressed to the nation of Israel, but he wanted to draw out some applications for us today.
He said that because a particular disaster happens or people go through more suffering than others doesn't mean that those people are worse sinners than those who don't pass through them.
We are all sinners and we need to repent and be converted.
Luke 24 vs.46  And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Why do we need to repent? Because we are sinners and we are accountable to God.
God sent His Son to bring us mercy and Salvation. We need to repent and believe the Gospel.
Bring forth fruits of repentance, there is an opportunity to be saved and Jesus Christ is the only means of Salvation.
Few there are that get saved it is not something we slip into by association, we need to strive to enter the strait gate, our ambition needs to be to get saved it is not en-mass it is one by one through the narrow gate. Jesus said "I AM the door." When we realise that we have nothing and no hope in ourselves we must turn to Christ and rely on Him.
He knows His own and it is only through faith and trust in the death and shed blood of the Lord Jesus that we can be saved from a Hell that is far worse than we could ever imagine. Don't be left out, don't miss the opportunity to accept Him as your personal Saviour. He is coming to receive His own to be with Him in Heaven for Eternity.
